After growing up in Charleston, Dr. Banik graduated from the College of Charleston, earned his dental doctorate (DMD) from the Medical University of SC (MUSC), and completed an advanced dental residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC. After practicing and teaching in Savannah, he returned to Charleston. Attending numerous advanced dental courses each year, Dr. Banik earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), is a graduate of the renowned Kois Center, and earned certification in the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorder Disciplines. He also mentors young dentists as a clinical instructor at MUSC dental school and treats children at Welvista Smiles rural dental clinic in Allendale, SC.
